Celebrating National Intern Day: Meet Our Accounting Intern, Jacob Kleeman

July 30, 2026

Every team member brings a unique perspective to Envoy, and our interns are no exception. In recognition of National Intern Day, we're highlighting Jacob Kleeman, our Accounting Intern, who has spent the summer learning the ins and outs of the accounting profession while becoming an active part of the Envoy team.

Jacob gained firsthand experience with company processes that allowed him to build relationships across departments. while embracing every opportunity to learn. We caught up with him to hear about his experience and what he's taken away from his internship.

What are you studying, and what interested you in that field?

"I am studying accounting at Purdue University. What interested me the most about accounting is learning about how to understand the language of accounting and being able to decipher companies' financial documents."

What have you enjoyed most about your internship at Envoy?

"I have enjoyed getting to know the team at Envoy, and it’s been awesome getting involved in other assignments, even ones outside of my job description."

What's one project or experience you're proud of so far?

"I have enjoyed learning about the process of the company cards. I joined the team right as the switch was happening, and I’ve been able to witness the process from a close-up perspective on how a company like Envoy makes these types of changes."

What's something you've learned that surprised you?

"I have learned a lot about time management. I often get tasks throughout the day that require me to plan out how to manage my schedule while working on my projects."

What's one piece of advice you'd give to future interns?

"A piece of advice I would give future interns is to be a team member and socialize. If you have topics to connect on with others, you will naturally get to know them better, which is great for when you need to solve problems with them."

What's your favorite lunch spot or snack during the workday?

"I have actually really enjoyed the company lunches. I have been fortunate enough to be a part of a few company cookouts. It has been great to see the whole team and socialize with them when I have the opportunity!"

Thank You, Jacob!

"Jacob has been a pleasure to have on our team this summer. He's incredibly bright, picks up new concepts quickly, and consistently approaches every task with a positive attitude. He's always willing to jump in and help wherever needed, asks thoughtful questions, and follows through on what he's asked to do. On top of that, he's friendly, professional, and easy to work with. I have no doubt he'll be very successful in his career, and we're grateful for the contributions he's made during his internship," says Controller, Laura Hoffman.

We're grateful for the energy, curiosity, and positive attitude Jacob has brought to the Envoy team this summer. Internships are an opportunity to learn, contribute, and grow, and Jacob has embraced each of those opportunities along the way.

Happy National Intern Day to Jacob and to all of the interns making an impact as they begin their careers. We can't wait to see where your journey takes you next.
